what are other things to have with a meal than chips?!


Question: What are other things to have with a meal than chips?
if im having a pie or fish or a chicken steak what is something i can eat with it other than chips...maybe something a little more healthy?

Answers:

potatoes or a salad x



brown rice cooked in broth and a tsp of olive oil with thinly sliced fresh green onions stirred in after the rice is done cooking but still hot.

Also, you can crisp up some corn tortillas under the broiler but you'll have to watch very closely so they don't burn broil 60 seconds on the first side and 30 seconds on the flip side. Then, break them into pieces for dipping and you'll have chips with no added oil or salt and they taste better and are more fun



When it comes to sides, You can eat almost anything in small portions. For something healthy, try vegetables such as carrots with dip, or corn. Salad is always an option, and with so many varieties its sure to please! Try different food with your meal to find one that compliments it the best.



Pasta, preferably wholemeal, brown rice, wholemeal fresh bread (minimal or no butter) cous cous, polenta. or stay with potatoes but boil, steam or bake instead of fry. Try also to add some other vegetables or a side salad and not to overdo any of the above carbs. Do not add butter to veg and do not use a high oil dressing on salads.



Boiled potatoes or maybe try roast.
Rice with boiled vegetables.

Pie and mash, with a tasty sauce or a gravy.

Roast peppers stuffed with ricotta cheese make a great side too.

Mmmm, I'm hungry now so am off to make a meal :)

steamed veggies!!! I eat it with my meal and its very healthy. I eat less meat, and drink more water or warm natural herb tea to soothe my tummy ^^. Instead of pie, you could have salad, corn on a cob? hehehe I stay away from fried food ^^

Chicken can go with anything, from green beans to spinach...
If you are lazy, add a salad!

Steamed vegetables, crackers (triscuites, wheat thins, ritz, etc), cottage cheese, boiled vegetables, fresh vegetables with dip/pb, potatoes, etc.



Roasted sweet potato chips.
or
Make a savoury vegetable cous cous (Ainsley Harriets or supermarket's own brands are pretty tasty)



Pudding, Ice cream, Cake, Ice cream cake, Mashed Potato's Peas Garlic Bread Itlalian Bread
