How can I get my basic cookie icing bright-white?!

Question: How can I get my basic cookie icing bright-white?
Obviously, if one blends powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, the result is a creamy sort of color. Is there a way to get this basic cookie icing a real bright white?

Answers:

Omit the vanilla and use almond extract instead. Vanilla is brown and the almond is clear.

Use either lard or shortening for the fat and you can get clear Vanilla flavoring as well and use only white milk...not evaporated.

Lots of experience

Make a 7 minute frosting, it's very white.

Use clear vanilla extract and add meringue powder, use water instead of milk. The bst cookie icing is a thinned royal icing.

The vanilla extract is he culprit. Leave it out, or use a colorless extract like orange, mint, lemon, or almond
