For this recipe, could I use mashed banana instead of oil?!

Question: For this recipe, could I use mashed banana instead of oil?
Do you think it would work?
...or go horribly wrong? haha

I've done this before with chopped/sauteed apples and it worked. What do you think?
Thanks!

it wouldnt go horribly wrong, but it may be less tender and a bit dry.

I would try it though, because it might turn out just as delicious and you'd make them significantly healthier :)

you COULD use half banana/half oil, but you're only talking about half a cup of oil to replace so 1/4 cup banana and 1/4 cup oil doesn't seem worth it.

I have used sugar free apple sauce in place of oil and margarine. I have used banana in place of eggs. However, I have not used apple sauce in place of eggs, nor banana in place of oil. I think the banana could work, though you might get a slight banana taste, which I think would be good. (I would also use all whole wheat flour, one-fourth cup Florida Crystals [if that much], and maybe more chocolate chips. I don't think a lot of sugar is needed if the apple sauce, banana and chocolate chips are used.)
