Can you help me with these pinto beans to baked beans:crockpot?!

Question: Can you help me with these pinto beans to baked beans:crockpot?
I have soaked 2# pinto beans overnight, I am now putting them in the crockpot on LOW with a ham bone, does any one have a recipe for baked beans or something of the like after they are soft in the morning?

Answers:

rinse soaked beans and bring to a boil on the stove until tender add to crock pot with diced onion and diced salt pork or bacon etc. add cup of water , 1/2 cup of molasses and 1/2 cup of maple syrup along with tbsp of brown sugar, tsp of dry mustard and 1/2 tsp of savory. cook overnight and an hour before serving add tbsp of ketchup and tsp of prepared mustard and 1/2 cup of Bourbon if desired and dash of liquid smoke flavouring.

Saute a red onion in butter til it goes brown and caramelized. Add 2 sliced , peeled, apples ( dice them) and add a litlle brown sugar. Add a lemon ( juice of one) to the pan when you suate the apple. Cook til its soft and add this to the beans. IF you have any raw peanuts I'd put these in the crock pot too- they texture with the beans is amazing.
Water chestnuts too, are amazing with beans and sauteeed apples.

You don't need to do anything with them other than eat them. They are done at that point. Make some cornbread, chop a little fresh onion and munch out.

i agree with brad..make cornbread
