Can you heat a cucumber?!


Question: Can you heat a cucumber?
Like grapes if you microwave them they explode if i heat up a cucumber what will the result be will it go mushy and soft or just become warm?

Yes, you can heat a cucumber. I'm not sure I'd do it in the microwave because they don't usually heat evenly so you could get some parts way overcooked and other parts still raw. I don't know if it will explode. It will get mushy when cooked, or at least softer. Cucumbers are basically squashes, they're just a lot wetter than other squashes. I've had cooked cucumber in a sort of baked vegetable stew.



you can heat anything you like, but it won't taste good nor be good to use in any food.

if you need to heat it to make it "room temperature" I would suggest you heat it for less than 15 seconds.



I have battered and deep fried them, (1/2" rounds), and stir fried them 3/4" chunks. Just don't cook them too long.



You could but it would probably turn to mush!!
