when making tzatziki (cucumber) sauce do you need to strain greek yogurt?!
I have found a million different ways to make it but they all say to strain the yogurt to get a thicker sauce, greek yogurt is a little thicker i was wondering for those who make this if you still need to strain the greek yogurt.
Also it's my first time to make it, and found a million different ways to make and i think i found a good recipe but was wondering if someone had a good/better recipe if they don't mind sharing it, or if they have a secret ingredient that i could use

Answers:
No, but you need to put the chopped cucumber (and onion if you are using it) into a clean tea towel and squeeze out all the liquid before mixing in with the yoghurt as both contain a lot of moisture and if not squeezed the liquid can cause the yoghurt to either go too runny, or to split.
Lived in Cyprus for two years and was taught to make Tzatziki by a Greek Cypriot!
