Question: When heating soup on the stove..is it better to adjust the heat dial to very low if will not be watching it?
if set the heat dial on very low..will it eventually heat/cook the soup sufficiantly ..but will take longer to do that and have less of a chance of boiling over all over the stove?

please explain what you can

thanks for your answers!

Answers:

To obtain the best flavour soup should be cooked slowly.

You can put it on the lowest setting and it will heat but it may stick on the bottom of the pan if the soup is fairly thick. The best way is to put on a medium heat and stir it all the time.It only takes a few minutes so you won,t lose much by spending time watching it.It certainly beats having to clean out a scorched pan!

Start the stove on high to bring to a boil. Lower the heat until the soup just simmers. Now you can leave it. Stir every 5 minutes or so.

set it to med.
