question about making cake balls?!

Question: Question about making cake balls?
hello : )
i made cake balls a few weeks ago and i want to make some for the superbowl (football dcorated ones ; )
last time they were a bit too moist, i guess too much frosting, should i just use less frosting or freeze them for longer?
any other tips for cakeballs?

Answers:

If you are baking a cake special for this, bake the cake a little longer than you usually would so it is kind of dry. Some cakes are really moist and that is the way you want them but for cake balls you want a dryer cake.
If the cake is already baked, just break it up in chunks and let it air dry for a couple of hours (you are running close on time here.) Don't add as much frosting as you did the last time. Add some frosting and stir it in, then if you need a little more to get it to stick together you can. Freezing them for longer will not help. The only way they could be less moist would be to dry out and food does not dry when it is in the freezer. Letting them set out on the counter first and then freezing them would work but you are working in a time frame here.

This is a great idea for a treat. I would dip them in melted white chocolate dyed in the team colors.

Have a fun day!
