Instead of trying to substitute ingredients, I would suggest looking for a recipe that has the ingredients that you want. These two recipes are from cooks.com:

POUND CAKE WITHOUT THE POUNDS

1/2 c. applesauce
1/2 c. nonfat milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
8 egg whites
1 1/2 c. sugar

Grease a tube pan with vegetable oil spray and flour it. In a mixing bowl, combine applesauce, milk, vanilla and almond extract, and set aside. In a second bowl, combine flour and baking powder and set aside also. In a third bowl, beat egg whites until foamy; gradually add sugar and beat until soft peaks form.
Alternately drizzle milk mixture and sprinkle flour mixture into egg foam, and fold in. Pour batter into tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes. Immediately invert cake, still in pan. Cool thoroughly. Gently loosen sides of cake and remove it from pan. Serves 16 - 155 calories per serving, trace of fat, 0 cholesterol.

APPLESAUCE POUND CAKE

2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 (16 oz.) can applesauce
3 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Bake in tube pan 1 hour at 350 degrees.

This recipe is from Taste of Home:

Pound Cake

1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3 eggs
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1-1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

In a small bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the applesauce, vanilla and lemon peel. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture just until blended.
Transfer to an 8-in. x 4-in. loaf pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 45-55 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely. Yield: 12 servings.

This last one uses a cake mix and instant pudding is from allrecipes.com:

Easiest Lemony Pound Cake

1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
5 tablespoons instant lemon pudding mix
2 eggs
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup water
1/8 cup applesauce

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch springform pan.
2.In a medium bowl, stir together the cake mix and instant pudding. Add the eggs, butter, water and applesauce, mix with an electric mixer until smooth. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
3.Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing from pan to cool on a wire rack.

I don't type out dead links anymore but replace sugar with a substitute and use applesauce measure for measure.
