Ingredients:

1 ? cups of Crisco (1 ? sticks of Crisco)
1 Tablespoons vanilla extract amd put in cup,
then add milk to equal 1/2 cup total.
2 lb bag of powdered sugar

Directions:

Place Crisco in a mixer bowl. Add milk/vanilla mixture and a little powdered sugar.

Mix on low speed gradually adding the rest of the powdered sugar.

Mix on the highest setting for 7 minutes, stopping in the middle of mixing to scrape the bowl sides and bottom. Be sure to mix for the full 7 minutes.

This is what I came up with and it has been a hit whenever i have made it.

350g butter (dont use unsalted) (3 sticks)
100g soft cream cheese (4oz)

Whisk these until pale

800g icing sugar sifted (confectioners) 6 1/2 cups
1tbsp full fat milk
1tsp vanilla extract
1/2tsp lemon juice or zest

Add the above gradually. I like this recipe cause its not too sweet. The cream cheese gives it an edge but people dont know its in there. You can add more or less icing sugar depending on the consistancy you want.
This makes enough for 2 med cakes depending on how thick you want it.

There are hundreds of variations on Buttercream Frosting.......
