what's the difference between cream cheese, white cheese and feta white cheese?!


Question: What's the difference between cream cheese, white cheese and feta white cheese?
i'm making cheesecake and asked somebody to get me the cream cheese from the grocery store. but they got me two packs of a cheese labeled 'feta white cheese'. can this be used for the cheesecake?

Not at all, it's too salty and not the right texture for cheesecake. That's a cheese for salads and whatnot. You need Cream cheese which is smooth and creamy or you can use Ricotta cheese for cheesecakes, but it's not as smooth as when using cream cheese. I would take it back and get the right stuff.
