Banana sandwich on a good wholegrain bread. Both are great slow-release energy sources, and good fibre sources too, and should fill you up pretty well. For even more energy you could also add a sprinkle of chopped nuts or chocolate (or both!) or a spoonful or two of peanut butter.
Don't eat anything too sugary or fatty, it gives you one big energy boost and then you feel tired. Eat some carbohydrates like Pasta, all the athletes eat pasta before running because it gives slow energy release. Bananas also do the trick. :)

Granola cereal and smoothies will do the trick
