Red can be hard to achieve, but it is do-able. I always suggest using gel coloring when dying fondant because it doesn't dilute the fondant and gives a vibrant color. What you might need to do is go ahead and use the food coloring you have and let your fondant sit. When you color fondant, it's best to let it sit for about 24 hours because it will darken and deepen and will show off it's true color better after that time.

They don't sell fondant in red.

You have to buy the food DYE, not the liquid colour - it will take forever using the liquid colour and it will make your fondant too gooey.

With the dye you only need a little bit and it is amazing. You add a tiny bit to your fondant and knead it in like bread dough. It takes a little time to knead it in thoroughly - I also suggest you use kitchen gloves as it will dye your hands as well.

Are you using the liquid food coloring??? You don't ever want to use too much of this for health reasons. Use the gell coloring, a small amount goes along way. I've dyed white fondant red using this before, make sure you wear gloves and start with a small amount, you can always add more. Both Michaels and Walmart carry gel colors.

You need the gel colorings to get a true color in fondant.

Good luck!

Make sure to use the gel food coloring, and add a drop of black in with the red.... otherwise you end up with PINK

Use gel for colorings.

My personal fav fondant is made of nuked marshmellows. :)
