My chicken says BEST if used by Feb.3 and it's the 7th...?!

Question: My chicken says BEST if used by Feb.3 and it's the 7th...?
It's been refrigerated the whole time and it does have the word "best" in there which makes me think this is different from a regular "use by" date.

Should it be OK to cook today?

Just cook it. JEEZ

If the chicken does not smell bad or feel very slimy then yes you can eat it. Best buy date is what is suppose to be the latest the product will taste good. Use by date indicates when it will probably make you sick. You can get fresh meat and again the sniff test and feeling it tells you it is bad. Trust me before they had best by or use by dates us old folks used common sense to make it this far.

Open the package and give it a sniff. If it smells off, give it a rinse then smell it again. If it still smells off, best to pitch it.

If you're refrigerator is cold enough (between 33 and 38 degrees) and the chicken has been in its original wrapper, I trust it will be fine, but cook it today.

It's fine as long as it doesn't have a strong odor. Best used by is just the freshest date, it would say use by if expired.

take it at your own risk, it may lead to stomach pains, diarrhoea, etc.
but if it doesn't smell horrible, look out of colour, you should be okay:)

If it smells funky do not cook it! Just go by the smell.

it says best by not spoiled by

Hey same! Erm I just smelled it, and if it doesn't smell horrific (and you'll know) then it's fine.

Is it still alive? If it is, you should probably kill it before eating.
