Halving recipes for slow cookers?!

Question: Halving recipes for slow cookers?
I'm attempting to half the recipe for a crock pot cooked pork roast (originally 4 lbs, making it 2). I'm not sure how to alter the cooking time, though. Since it's less meat, it would presumably take less time to cook and I don't want it overdone, but obviously, I can't have it underdone either.

Normally, I'd just make the whole thing and use the other half as leftovers, but a 4 lb roast won't fit in my crock pot.

Anyone have experience with this sort of thing?

Answers:

I've found the best way to 'adjust' for crockpot recipes is to find others with similar cuts/sizes of meat then do the adjusting.

Here's one for 2 lb roast, with these measurements you can adapt your recipe for ingredients:

Garlic Pork Roast

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 (2 pound) boneless pork roast
salt and pepper to taste
4 sweet potatoes, quartered
1 onion, quartered
6 cloves garlic
1 (14.5 ounce) can chicken broth

Directions:
1. Heat oil in large heavy skillet. Season meat with salt and pepper, and brown in oil.
2. In a slow cooker, layer sweet potatoes, onion and garlic. Place browned roast on top of vegetables, and pour in chicken broth.
3. Cover, and cook on low setting for 6 hours.
