flour or no flour--frying porkchop?!

Question: Flour or no flour--frying porkchop?
when frying porkchop do you use flour or no flour ??

Answers:

i never use flour, i dont see the point

It depends on whether you are making gravy - if you coat the pork chop lightly in seasoned flour and fry in butter (naughty - but the taste is great) until brown then you can gradually add some stock to make a thickened gravy. Stir all the time while heating and then bubbling- and you won't get any lumps. You also won't get that horrible scum on the top that you get when you braise pork chops slowly.

I wouldn't use flour if I was serving the chop dry i.e. as a BBQ style chop with salads etc.

I like to flour mine then brown them in a skillet. then put in a baking pan top with stuffing
add just a little water cover and bake till tender about 30 to 45 minutes at 325

very good my favorite way to eat them. good way to do chicken as well

depends on what else I'm having. For country dinners I dredge in flour and fry so I can make my gravy. For other nights like with toss salad and baked potato or au gratin, I do not flour. Either way as long as seasoned and cooked to the right temp. they are good.

Your choice

If you're going to make a gravy to go with the pork chop, you might want to flour the chop to help with the creation of that gravy; otherwise, salt and pepper is all you really need

It depends on my mood, last night I did seasoned flour.
