how much pork tenderloin should I cook to serve 37?!

Question: How much pork tenderloin should I cook to serve 37?
I will be cooking them on the grill and slicing them to go with a pasta salad, a broccoli slaw and another side dish.

Answers:

Giving that the recommended meat portion is 3 oz. , about 7 pounds would be enough for 37 ppl...give or take an ounce here and there. Now, to make sure you have enough for seconds as well as for the extra dishes then I would purchase about 10 -14 pounds. I dont know what other entertainment or drinks you will be serving as that also determines how much ppl consume. Buffet or sit down style also dictates how much you will need. It's better to have more than enough than run out. You can always leave some on hand to cook up on the fly if you need it instead of opening and cooking all of it at once.

If you know you have bigger eaters than usual, you might want to go to 6 ounces, but that would be a large serving.

Of course, you also have to account for weight loss when cooking. I’m guessing you’ll lose 25 to 30% of the raw weight as it is cooked. So here’s my calculation (let me get out my calculator) :

37 ppl X (4 ounces x 1.25) = 11.5 to 12 pounds of pork tenderloin.

Bon Appetit!

8 oz per person is a normal serving, but some ppl will eat more since it will be so good. Perhaps 20-25 lbs.

Oh my god. Boss, I do not have the answer to this question, but that sounds F*CKING DELICIOUS. Yum.
