Do you maybe mean tagines? There are many varieties of tagines, and depending on spicing, they can taste a little like curry. Morrocan food often uses coriander or cinnamon as spice, and those are in many curries, too. However, tagines tend to be sweeter and less spicy, and often include some kind of fruit. It's a unique taste combination. I make a lamb tagine with prunes--sounds strange, but it is incredibly good.
