How do you set the heat on a small George Foreman Grill?!
I recently purchased a George Foreman Grill. It's one of the smaller ones - I think it's the smallest you can purchase. It looks up to date and all; I don't think it's one of the older ones. It doesn't have a heat gauge ( to my vision ) and it cooks the steaks and ground beef I throw on there in about 30-90 seconds. Not only does it cook them that quick, but it over cooks them. My experience with this grill so far definitely contradicts the cooking guide in the manual.
Also, the manual says to let it preheat, and when the SELECTED temperature is reached, the preheat indicator light will go out.
How do I determine the temperature? I understand the older ones lacked this feature and that, that may be the case with this one. The only things preventing me from thinking that are the fact that the manual implies you can select the temperature, and that it's a more recent model.
I'm not sure of the model number, but maybe I can find it. Any help at this point, though would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

You cannot set the temp on that model. There is an inidcator light that will turn on when the machine is heated to the right temp. The insytrcutions are the same as the ones that come with the higher end models.
It cooks food so fast becuase it is cooking from the top And bottom. Just keep a closer eye on it. And you need to use thicker cuts of meat really or it will over cook Anything.
You can't set it. I treat it as a grill, like a charcoal grill. It's HOT, and you're learning as you go. I love mine, but it does take some trial.
