Can anyone tell me why you would put pickles on a chicken sandwich? Southern thing right? Story?!

I put pickles on chicken sandwiches because it tastes good and I have never lived in the south..

I make chicken salad with pickles, celery, and mayonnaise. Sometimes I even put cranberries in with it. Good sandwich. Might be a southern thing, but surely everyone eats chicken salad, and it always has pickles in it, so why not on a sandwich?

Pickles add the perfect salty-tart flavor to a chicken sandwich, like they have at Chick-fil-A. Chick-fil-A began in Atlanta, Georgia, so it may be a southern thing.
