I left pancake mix out all day?!

Question: I left pancake mix out all day?
I made some pancakes this morning, and left the leftover mix out all day. It wasn't a hot day, it was actually quiet cool... but yeah. I want to make more pancakes now, can I still use it or should I chuck it?

Answers:

Best to chuck it and make a new batch, milk and egg can go off quite quickly

If it is homemade batter or bisquick, you have to throw it out or risk food poisoning.

If its the mix made with only water added to it, it will most likely be alright as the milk and egg ingredients are just solids and not really the same as adding fresh milk and eggs.

MEh it's fien, if you're making them now. In fact, batter can be left overnight to accumulate more fermantation. In hot countries, i'ts how they make their batter light and fluffy.
You're cooking them over high heat, they are fine.

YOur batter is fine. If there is spoilage going on, you will see it.

First I'll say that I don't have a phobia about germs and bacteria like is preached to us now a days. I recently heard that it isn't things like eggs and mayo that go bad but the vegetables. So, based on how I feel about things and that information, I would say it is fine.

If it looks a bit rough, I'd just chuck it out but look, it won't kill you! Just make one pancake and taste it to see if it's okay, if it is just continue. :)

i would make a fresh batch the one you left out is probably hardened by now so i would chuck it and make a fresh batch

personal experiences

Yea you can just see if its hard or soft

Use it. You'll probably have to add some baking powder and milk to thin it out.

If you used eggs in your mix then you have to chuck it out.
