Use a wok and stir fry chicken, beef & veggies, tofu, add thin rice noodles, season with shoyu, oyster sauce, mirin, ginger & sriracha!

Sometimes we want to eat spaghetti noodles but we don't want to eat them with actual spaghetti sauce. It isn't hard to find some great recipes that not only let you keep enjoying spaghetti, but also dont have to include tomatoes! Here are five quick little dinners or meals to use that require spaghetti noodles and more than a little creative cooking!

First, consider how you cook your noodles. Al dente is the preferred texture, which means the noodles aren't soggy but are chewy. Most spaghetti noodles have instructions on the package to tell you how to cook them best. And most chefs surprisingly suggest adding enough salt to make the water as salty as the Mediterranean ocean itself! The salt will help the water boil faster, and also infuses the spaghetti noodles with genuine flavour. This is of course not ideal for a low sodium diet! A little bit of oil in the water keeps the spaghetti noodles from sticking, too! If you think your spaghetti noodles are ready, bite into one or toss it on a wall - if it sticks, they're ready! Shock the noodles after draining them by running them under cold water. This stops the spaghetti noodles from continuing to cook from within.

Next, put aside that tomato based spaghetti sauce and get out the olive oil! Combine your spaghetti noodles with olive oil, butter, pesto sauce, garlic and of course, Parmesan cheese. Yummy! Maybe you want to try the second recipe, which is very creative. Use peanut butter, melted, and combine with your spaghetti noodles, soy sauce, some sugar, some ginger and some steamed veggies. Broccoli or pea pods work great with this second recipe!

A third recipe seems so much simpler than the above spaghetti noodle options. Just use your warm noodles with some fresh cooked shrimp and some of your favourite Brie cheese. Voila! Fast and simple! Spaghetti noodles can also be used to make an interesting variation of a stir fry. Add soy sauce or teriyaki sauce to your spaghetti noodles, along with some veggies, and you're good to go!

These are absoultely excellent in soup. Stir fry or pan fry some veggies, add whatever meat you like in small cubes (or flavored tofu), cook the noodles in broth and put it all together. You can have as much or as little broth/veggies/noodles as you like. Have a hot chili sauce like Rooster brand on the side for that extra kick.

I made this not so long ago and it was really light and delicious:
