renaissance chocolate recipes?!

Question: Renaissance chocolate recipes?
I'm looking for a recipe for chocolate candy for a school presentation I am doing. I would like the recipe to be from the Renaissance (1400's-1500's), and I would like it to be as simple as possible--- I really can't bring elaborate, messy dishes to the presentation.

A beverage may work as well, but I would prefer something very simple.

before the industrial revolution there were no recipes for chocolate...
it came as a drink or in brick form.

chocolate shavings would have been the normal (spanish/european) way to consume it.
mayans would have consumed it solid or as a beverage...
