You can but i don't advise it. Water which has been soaked up by the rice during cooking is still there when you freeze it. When you de-frost it, the rice breaks down and is quite horrid to eat.
When I have rice, I make enough for 2-3 days (time saver). I use one lot as it's ready. The rest of it is put in a sieve and washed with COLD water to get all the starch off. Give it a good shake and let it dry out a bit before putting into plastic containers, with lids, in the fridge. This is quite safe to do but no longer. To re-heat it, I put it back in the sieve over a pan of boiling water, preferably with my potatoes or greens in. This way it gets thoroughly hot all though.
Yep i do it all the time and unlike those answers that say it's soggy -Rubbish i reheat in the microwave and it's always fluffy - been doing this for years and havent died yet - and as for the answer of keeping it in the fridge bactria grows on rice kept in a fridge much better to freeze it - go ahead it's great and a good time saver x
Of course you can . Just make sure you reheat it properly before you eat it .
OBVIOUSLY you have to let it drain first , get it totally dry and put it in a good container . I do it all the time and I've kept it frozen for months and months and there's nothing wrong with it at all .
I can only assume that the other answers were given by people who aren't very bright .
yes you can cook and freeze rice for later use. itll probably only be good for a month or so before it starts to freezer burn tho.
no, it gets soggy when defrosted.
