Why does my chicken burn?!

well maybe you oven is very powerful.
Well I don't know much about a fan-assisted oven, but you're definitely on the right track with lowering your temperature. What's (obviously) happening is the fan makes the temperature so high that the outside burns before the inside gets cooked.
Try cutting your chicken into smaller pieces before breading them (they will cook through faster this way), lowering your oven temperature again and make sure to turn your chicken half way through its cooking time. Also you should be doing is putting your chicken in a COLD oven, then heating the oven to the proper degrees with the raw meat inside. That way the poultry *should* heat through a little better, as it will be a gradual increase in heat (rather than throwing a cold product into a super hot environment-- making it burn).

I'd put them on a rack on a baking sheet, not foil, so the hot air circulates around and cooks both sides evenly. Depending on where your heat source is, try to center the rack between the two heating elements. If there's only one, drop the rack from where it was when you burned the top. If the directions are on the box of frozen chicken, remember that the convection drops the time and the temp involved. Try 175 for 12-14 minutes, but check the center for doneness.
Skip the convection mode and use the regular mode as chicken doesn't take that long to bake in regular mode. Also, if the top is more burnt that the bottom, move the rack or put the pan on a lower rack closer to the center of the oven. Also, flip them mid-cook time.
Are you sure you're using the oven setting and not the grill setting?
If you're truly cooking them at 100 degrees on a fan oven setting and they're burning on top in just ten minutes, there's something wrong with your oven.
Check the settings/modes.
convection oven is what you have. set it at 350 for 6 min and that should do the trick. 20 min is way to long for any chicken. it should be around 6-8 min at 350. Works for me

Sounds like something is wrong with your oven. Get a oven thermometer to check. 20 mins at 220 sounds like the chicken would still be almost raw.
Lose the tin foil.
Place the chicken on a cookie sheet or other oven proof pan. Don't use the convection (fan) feature. Just bake for 20 minutes at 220 C. (approx 450F)
I've never baked in a convection oven..but I do know if the recipe sez 350 then 325 is what you want...It sounds like you are using the wrong setting...

It sounds like your oven is way too hot and will burn every time.

the tin foil isnt necessary. just use a baking tray, and flip halfway through cooking.
