how to hard boil an egg for egg baby school project?!

Question: How to hard boil an egg for egg baby school project?
We are doing a project at school where the students carry a hard-boiled egg around for a week and protect it from getting cracked. What is the process for hard-boiling an egg so that the egg keeps its hard shell and doesn't rot as quickly? Thank you in advance!

heat water. once steaming add eggs. once boiling add salt but not too much to saturate it. cook for 20 minutes. Then cool in ice water till you think they are ready. I notice when i do this it's hard to crack with a knock of my knuckles.

Been eating eggs more lately. i think its a puberty thing.

I don't think you are supposed to hard boil it... it will go rotten within a couple days! When I did this project, we poked two holes in the top and bottom and blow the yolk and whites out gently, not to crack the egg. Then we were able to decorate our eggs (babies) any way we wanted. Mine was a blonde with long hair, blue eyes and big red lips. LOL. It was pretty fun!

Anyway, my point is... if you boil it and walk around with it for a week, it's going to stink. ESPECIALLY if you crack it.

Good luck
