need a icing recipe to ice and decorate a cake?!

Question: Need a icing recipe to ice and decorate a cake?
i need a icing recipe so i can decorate a cake
but i dont have butter or shortning. i only have margarine
and i dont have meringur powder either. need help

Answers:

I always use the Wilton buttercream icing recipe. If I don't have shortening I've used stick butter or margarine. They just soften the icing more so you have to adjust it by using only 1/2 cup (1 stick). It worked for me. Hope this helps. Go to www.wilton.com for the recipe.

Vanilla icing for cookies or pound cake.
Ingredients:

2 cups confectioners' sugar, sift before measuring
1 1/2 tablespoons margarine, soft
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 to 4 tablespoons milk
Preparation:

Combine all icing ingredients in small mixing bowl. Stir until smooth and well blended. Adjust for spreading consistency if necessary, adding more milk or more confectioners' sugar. Spread icing or drizzle on warm cookies or pound cake.

go to supermarket, but icing , job is done.
