Question: Help, whats for dinner?
I have made spaghetti last night, pork loin on Monday but i am unsure what to make tonight. It feels like we eat the same thing week after week.

Tunisian Chickpea Soup (Leblebi)

This soup is accompanied with serval garnishes. Place them in small bowls and arrange in the centre of the table so your guests may add them as they wish.

11/2 cups dried chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
6 cups vegetable broth or chicken broth, heated
1tsp cumin seeds, toasted
1/2 tsp salt
1-5 garlic cloves
1 teaspoon harissa(harissa is made from hot chillies, garlic, cumin, and other spices mixed with olive oil. It is a specialty of Tunisia and is often served with couscous.)
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, diced

Garnish
1/2 cup capers, drained and coarsely chopped
2 hard cooked eggs, coarsely chopped
one 6oz can of tuna, drained and flaked
ground cumin
1/3cup harissa
1/2cup thinly sliced spring onions, including some of the green
Extra-virgin olive oil
2 lemons, quartered
Six 1/2inch-thick, day-old French bread, cut into 1 -inch cubes

Rinse and pick over the chickpeas. Soak the chickpeas overnight in water to cover by several inches. Drain.
In a large pot, combine the chickpea and broth. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to a very low simmer and cook for 20 Min's.
In a mortar or food processor, crush the cumin seeds With the salt. Add the garlic and crush to a paste.Add the paste and harissa to the soup.Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes over very low heat, or until the chickpeas are tender.In a medium saute pan or skillet over medium heat, heat the oil and saute the onion until translucent. Add the onion mixture to the soup pot and cook for 15minutes. Taste and adjust the seasoning.
To serve, put each garnish, except the bread cubes, in a small bowl.Put some of the bread cubes in bottom of each soup bowl and ladle /2cup broth over them.Divide the chickpeas among the bowls. The garnishes may be added as desired.

Start when you are shopping, with a variety of ingredients:
Proteins: beef - ground, steak, roast, ribs, etc.
Chicken - whole, cut-up, turkey - legs, breast, etc.
Fish - tuna, salmon, sardines, shrimp, fresh/frozen.
Starches: potatoes, pasta, rice, etc.
Vegetables & fruit in season, choose variety of colour.
Then you'll have endless combinations to choose from.
Pick a protein, starch, & match with a vegetable.
Secondly, vary your method of cooking:
Casserole, slow-cooker, pressure-cooker, stir-fry, etc.
Check recipes to try different ethnicity of flavor:
Chinese, Italian, Mexican, French, Greek, Asian, Indian, etc.

how about a veggie stir fry with a soy sauce sweet thai chili sauce with fried rice.... something different doesnt have to be hard...maybe if there is left over pork throw it in there to use it up the sauce will give it new flavor
