I'm planning to just bake some brownies quickly
so I'm going to just buy the mix
I was wondering if I can mix a bit of vanilla cake mix into it for a marble effect

Yes you can(swirl it in-run a spoon though the mix after you make the yellow mix and add it to the chocolate, do not mix it) -- they do sell marble brownie mix.
Yes!. You can also add very soft cream cheese instead of the vanilla cake and swirl it in. Its delicious.
