Question: Are tossed salad & dinner rolls considered appetizers?
need to write a menu for my class. thanks in advance for the help

I don't consider them appetisers.

I consider salad either a starter or a side, depending on when it is served, and rolls are a side also.

An appetiser is something like shrimp cocktail.



No, appetizers aren't part of a meal. The salad and the dinner roll are sides and considered a part of the meal. An appetizer would be tasty little tidbits served to get the taste buds going before dinner perhaps served alongside the cocktails at a dinner party.



I wouldn't regard them as such

A tossed salad is part of the salad course ... or, in France, occasionally served after the meal

Dinner rolls are served with the salad, soup, and/or main course, depending on your region



Yeah...a small portion tho but yeah
