How to make cookies look like dimes/March of Dimes treat ideas?!

Question: How to make cookies look like dimes/March of Dimes treat ideas?
Me and a few of my school friends wanted to collect donations outside a supermarket for our school's March of Dimes drive (we already have permission from the supermarket).
Among about thirty minutes of exchanging ridiculous ideas, we thought it'd be fun to give out cookies for donations (if they donate more than a dollar or something).

As far as fund-raising goes we figured (and learned from other fund-raising experience), that a nice looking set-up would go far. Ex: have a table set-up with nice signs that don't look like you through them together in five minutes, wearing some sort of "uniform" (ie: school shirt), having some information on march of dimes, and talking to people rather than standing their with a blank look on your face :)

Anyway as far as giving out cookies or treats for a donation we thought of some ideas.
* Stickers, but a mass order would be kind of expensive, and homemade stickers don't look "professional" enough
* Buttons, but making nice buttons is expensive, the cheep buttons we could make nobody would actually want.
*Cookies/brownies/donuts!!! (FYI homemade donuts are awesome!)

We were going to go with cookies/treats. Not as in a bake sale, but just an extra fun thing you get if you donate. We wanted to make them themed in some way. We figured putting dimes in baked goods was annoying and counterproductive to making money for March of Dimes.

Do you know any ways to make cookies/chocolates/treats look like dimes, other than a pathetic attempt by us to frost the design on?
Do you have any other ideas for cheep/fun themed things we could give out to donaters?
Do you have any other ideas for a good display?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Here is what I would do:

Make sugar cookies with a small cutter (dime sized) and then get that edible silver paint. They sell it in the baking aisle at some stores, or you might have to find a place that sells cake decorating things. And if you really can't find it, find a local wedding cake bakery and ask them for some. Tell them you are doing it for charity and they probably will just give you a little. then you just paint it on with a clean brush (not one you have used for actual paint previously) they won't look exactly like dimes, but it will be close.

Then get those little cello bags and put a few in each like 5 or 10 and hand those out to people.

as far as decorating goes, just make big old posters and what not.

To make cookies or any other edible gift for a crowd of stranger would be a bit tricky ,for the simple reason that some people could be allergic to something used in the cookies, then any food served to the public needs to be approuved by the health department ,so i wont recommend making cookies at all. The March of dimes could give you brochures to hand out to people .

to make cookies look like a dine you would need a mould with a cast imprint you could also consider moulding chocolates but again you would need a mould . Or you could make plain round cookies and pipe 10Cents on them with a fine tip and white Royal Icing
