What is the best kind of paper to wrap burgers?!

Question: What is the best kind of paper to wrap burgers?
I know it's a kind of grease-free paper like parchment or wax paper, but I'm not sure which is best. I'm baking cupcake burgers (one vanilla cupcake + brownie + colored frosting + sugar cookie fries = awesome) for my sorority, and I figure wrapping the "burgers" each individually, then putting them neatly in a larger bag would provide the easiest and least destructive transportation. I also want it to look as "authentic" as possible, because it makes it even more fun.

For added fun, what's the best way to draw on said paper? Can you used colored markers? Pencils? Crayons? Even a computer/printer bit?

Thank you!

I'm totally stealing the cupcake burger idea and cookie fries idea- super cute.
I'd go with parchment over wax paper, if you want to draw on it. I wouldn't use crayon since the wax will rub off and I don't think colored pencil or printer ink will stick. (Non toxic) Marker would be your best bet but do it in advance so the parchment can dry completely and let it air out so you don't get that markery smell in the food.

You might have some luck trying food coloring and painting it onto the paper. If you have a baking supply place nearby or a Sur La Table or something like it they might carry printed parchment paper. I know they have fun cupcake wrappers.

They sell deli wrap sheets which would be the right weight for what you are looking for. Some of them have printed designs on them. I buy mine at a restaurant supply store but I know some of the supermarkets carry them. Ask an employee. If you try to use a magic marker on the sheets, make sure they are non toxic.
I would go to a fast food place and ask them if they would sell you a box of their sandwich wraps. I know some of the places will. You might also be able to buy some of the little bags for the "fries".
Fun idea!

Use parchment paper. I don't think you will be able to draw on it, but test out different methods of a test sheet. Different brands are different in how their papers react to things like that, so just try it out Use a sticker to seal it and keep it from falling open. It sounds really fun. :)

You are trying too hard, and they will end up making fun of you, but if you insist, use colored tissue paper, probably yellow and white.

Use butter paper

I would buy a roll of decorated wrapping paper of your choice of design.
Use a sharp kitchen knife to cut it to size, very strict and square to cover your burger cookies or cupcakes.
Inside of each fancy choice paper, place a piece of wax paper cut also with a sharp knife, same size, wrap both together around your burger imitation, as they do at the takeout. Doing it this way protects the cupcake burger and the outside wrap from getting greasy. You could use foil on the inside instead of wax paper.
If you want to label the burger wrapper, design separate graphic text or text labels in color on your computer and print them and cut them with scissors and just apply them with tape onto your burger wrapping paper with invisible tape.
Do it in steps like an assembly line, to make it easy.
You could buy brown lunch bags and decorate them with color markers with a LOGO that would represent your SORORITY. Here is a link to a lunch bag look.

You could do a lot by drawing with markers or gluing an already created logo to the lunch bag.
