For the simplest type of pastry, take half as much fat as flour, can be lard, margerine, butter or a mixture straight from fridge. Put flour in bowel, cut up fat add to flour and with finger tips rub together, or even easier if you have a food proceser wizz both together till like fine bread crumbs, then add water a little at a time till mixture will stick together. put some flour on worktop gently knead together then roll out and use. No rolling pin, use a bottle.

there are many diff types of pastry u mong.....wat kind are u lookin 4???....more than likely puff if it is for sausage rolls, and jus buy dat cause its way too hard to make
