What can I have with my salad to taste better?!

Question: What can I have with my salad to taste better?
I'm not keen on plain salad, even with tomatoes. I like mayonnaise or salad cream, but I'm on a diet and I can't have that.
So, what can I have instead?

Put a little salt and pepper on it with vinegar and olive oil. Feta cheese also makes a nice salad.

I like Newman's Own lite balsamic vinaigrette- great flavor. You might try a raspberry vinaigrette- you don't have to use as much of it because it has a lot of flavor. If you must have your mayonnaise type dressing- you can always dip each forkful in the sauce so you're not eating as much of it. And when you're putting it in a small container- you can look at how much you're actually using- use a measuring spoon if you have to. A serving is usually a tablespoon and it's easy to go over one serving if you just pour it directly on your salad without really watching it.

I love walnuts, mandarin segments, dried cranberries, and honey! You can mix in almost any kind of fruit or nut, really. Pears slices, apple slices- slivered almonds are also good. Strawberries (when they are in season) are amazing in a fresh, green salad! Here's a great website for salad recipes and ideas: http://allrecipes.com/recipes/salad/green-salads/top.aspx

Take a little lemon juice and a dash of olive oil....Don't add any cheese...that will add more calories...

Also vinegar and oil is good...salt & pepper to taste...

You could take balsamic vinegar add a dash soy sauce a dab of Dijon mustard..a half teaspoon honey and 2 or 3 tablespoons plain yogurt with 1/2 tablespoon olive oil...mix well...this has a few calories though...

Hope this helps.............

french dressing :
olive oil
balsamic vinegar ( or plane vinegar )
a small bit of mustard or herbs

mary rose sauce; ( like in a big mac)
mayonnaise mixed with a bit of tomato sauce..

balsamic

ketchup or mustard

pasta, potatos and sweetcorn! make it with the mayonnaiseyy sauce :)
