Accidentally left 7 lb. chicken out overnight?!

Question: Accidentally left 7 lb. chicken out overnight?
I took my 7 lb. chicken out last night to thaw out because it was frozen solid, and assumed it would take a day to thaw out. Due to events, I completely forgot about it, leaving it out all night, until about 6:30 in the morning. Would it still be safe, considering it was completely frozen the night before, and was still cold this morning?

Yes Aja it will be fine to cook since if was completely frozen at first.
Just make sure it's still cold and doesn't' have any odor, vital!
My advice is to to broil it right away! Just season it really good all around the skin and throw a half lemon and half orange with salt and pepper in the cavity. Cook it for about 35-40 mins. @ 350* F
It will be perfect. Wait about 5 minutes prior to slicing, so the juices stay.

I leave chicken out to thaw in the sink all the time. Especially in the Winter. Not sure where you live, but I leave mine in the sink because its right under a window and away from the heating vent. Some may argue this, but solid frozen chicken and hens take about 10 hours to thaw.
I have been doing it for decades and no one in my home has ever got sick.

Environmental Health would say, don't take a chance, throw it away. You are advised to thaw things in the refrigerator. I say if you had left it out for maybe a max. of two hours it would be ok, but never overnight. You can't always smell when something goes wrong with food. That is not an indicator of good or bad. If you get sick you can get really sick. Not worth it, throw it out.

According to the FDA its not safe. My son was infected by raw chicken juice that made him VERY sick. Food borne diseases aren't something you want to take a chance on. It stinks to have to toss it out - but think about how much worse it would feel to be VERY sick from some bacteria!!!

You took it out last night....assuming it would take a day to thaw out. Example last night at 9pm, 9 pm tonight would be a full day 24 hours. You forgot about until 6:30 this morning, that's only 9 1/2 hours according to my guesstimate.

It's fine.

According to HACP, no. But rinse it off with cold water and cook it now and it should be fine. But it's your stomach so you be the judge.

I'm thinking that as long as it doesn't smell, it should be ok- just make sure you cook it thoroughly.

You should be fine, just cook it like normal.

You're going to be a father.

if it smells than yes
