All canned tomatoes taste very similar so just buy the shops own brand for making a sauce.

Use a large can around 28 oz. of crushed tomatoes... preferrably ones that are made from Roma tomatoes, or San Marzano tomatoes if you can find them. Also add around 1-2 tbsp of tomato paste and if your recipes doesn't call for it, add around 1/4 to 1/2 a cup of cream, depending on how much you're making.

roma tomatoes are best for cooking
if u are eating the tomatoes raw then there are others that are supposedly better

Any canned peeled plum tomatoes and some tomato puree, a dash of oregano, salt and sugar.

Passatta is really nice. It's pureed tomatoes and nothing else. You should get it in most supermarkets

Roma

Cheap, tasty and easy to find.
