How to make Shrimp Cocktail?!

Question: How to make Shrimp Cocktail?
Ok, all you food experts are going to laugh at the simplicity of this question...
However, I do not cook or eat seafood and do not know a THING about it!
I would like to make a shrimp cocktail for my husband. Is there already shrimp that I can buy that is cooked? I know I can buy the sauce.
I'm looking to just put it together with no leg work. I get skirmish around seafood so I'd love to not handle it much. Please let me know how I can do this the easiest way!
THANKS!

You can buy IQF (Individually Quick Frozen) Shrimp at the supermarket. They come in opaque bags and in different sizes. Or you can buy cooked thawed shrimp from the seafood counter. This enables you to buy as many as you want and not over-buy.

You can buy bottled cocktail or shrimp sauce, or you can make your own.

Thaw frozen shrimp in the refrigerator.

To serve shrimp cocktail, fill 2 martini glasses half full with the cocktail sauce, then place the shrimp around he edge of the glasses with the tails hanging off. Dress the glass with a lemon slice or wedge and a sprig of parsley. If you're a fan of horseradish, you can put a little dollop in the middle of the cocktail sauce then fan it out with the handle of a teaspoon.

The butcher at your grocery store will have peeled shrimp behind the counter. It will NOT be frozen. I like fresh market, but Kroger will probably have it. Then all you have to do is buy the cocktail sauce. Put the sauce in a martini glass and prop 4-5 shrimp around the edge! (By the way, you can make sauce with ketchup and horseradish). If you can't find the shrimp, have the butcher man peel it for you. You won't need but a half pound or more.

I have a Mexican Shrimp Cocktail recipe: Chop up some 2 tomatoes, 1/2 an onion, hand full of fresh cilantro & 1 fresh jalape?o. Mix it in a bowl add the juice of 5 limes and 1 can of V8. buy the 2 bags of the cooked cocktail shrimp and add it to the bowl. Give another quick mix and serve with saltine crackers. It's take a little work to chop the veggies up but he will love you more for it. Enjoy!

LOL, you are too funny... you pretty much have the answers though. Go to the fish department at the store and ask for pealed/cooked shrimp. Make sure it's thawed... I serve my shrimp in a wide bowl on top of broken ice with the cocktail sauce in a small dipping bowl in the middle. Make sure to squeeze a little lemon over the shrimp just before serving...

Good luck1

You can buy pre xcooked shrimp. Either inthe meat section in the cases at the store or in the frozen section. To be honest you are most likely going to pay more for the stuff behind the counter but it was frozen when they put it out, and is just defrosting.

The coacktial sauce can be baought yes , but is so simple to make it will be Much better if you make it yourself.

Put some kethcup in a bowl, say about 1/2 a cups worth. Add horseradish. I LOVE horseradish so I would add a baout a tbsp or so. But you could start with a tsp and see where the heat level is for you.

I also like to add a little lemon juice, (About 1/8-1/4 of a lemon for this) and a sprinkl;e of seaoned salt and a little lemon zest.

This will be 100 times better than that nasty stuff you buy in a jar.
