Boil the kettle
get a saucepan
pour the boiling water into the saucepan
put it on the stove at high heat
break the chocolate into a bowl
place that bowl in the saucepan & let it melt.

alternatively you could microwave it.

In a double boiler or in a glass measuring cup in the Micro Wave. The heat from the water in the bottom of a double boiler will melt the chocolate without burning it. If you try to melt it in a pan with heat applied directly to the pan you will burn the chocolate. If you use a glass measuring cup in the MW it will also melt without burning.

Experience.

hey there are a few options depending you want it fast or good

option 1 this is the best option if you want to melt chocolat try to buy chocolat tears reather than a big piece of chocolot however shopped up that will work fine aswel

put the pieces into a cooking bowl aliminium steel prefferd and put this in a bigger bowl you filled up with boiling water and now stirr until melted

option 2

microwave same as above small pieces microwave bowl into small intervalls 10 seconds everytime and keep stirring

remember this is the quikest way but not the best

iam achef

need to use a double boiler

take a medium sauce pan and fill about half way with water, then get it up to a boil, then find a glass bowl that will sit on the rim of the pan and not go into the water, so the glass bowl is supported by the edge of the pan and not touching the water

now break the chocolate into a little smaller pieces and put them into the glass bowl, this will make the steam and heat from the sauce pan warm the glass bowl slowly to melt the chocolate without burning it, make sure to use a wooden or nylon type spoon to keep stirring it with to get it melted evenly, and just keep adding the chocolate until you have melted as much as you want

every now and then lift the glass bowl slightly to allow some of the steam to escape from the pan so it doesnt try to boil over from steam build up

here's the RIGHT way to do. you have to make a double boiler. it's easier than it sounds. all a double boiler is is one pan inside a pan with boiling water. so take a pan and boil some water in, then take another pan and put that pan inside the pan with boiling water and put the chocolate in that pan. this way, the chocolate won't burn. if you do it in the microwave, it might burn. you can try it with just one pan on the stove, but it still might burn

myself

i do it on the stove. i fill a pot of water half way and put it on medium heat, then i put a plastic mixing bowl (thats microwave safe so you know it wont melt) on top of the pot. break up your choc and put it in bowl and stir until melted =)

melt in double boiler. If you don't have one, fill pan of water and put bowl over top of pan. Put chocolate in bowl. If you try melting it directly in pan, it is easy to stick and burn.

I boil water in a pot (big round one).
Put the chocolate in a heat safe bowl.
Put the bowl over the pot (leave the water in the pot)
let the chocolate melt away.

Put it in a big microwaveable bowl with some butter. If you have 5 lbs of chocolate, I would put in quite a bit of butter. Then microwave it. Save some for me! Now I want strawberries...

put it in a pan...put it under fire and it will melt...put it in a bowl after it cooled down a little and there you go

in your mouth, not in your hands
