Use anything your heart desires. Many will tell you NOT to season a steak, but it's an individual thing.
Personally I like garlic salt and Monterrey Steak Seasoning on my steak, sometimes just fresh garlic, salt and rosemary and cracked pepper.
For sides, here are a few suggestions which you may opt to try.
Garlic Toast (homemade)
Twice baked potatoes
Plain baked potatoes
Grilled Corn on the cob
Roasted Broccoli
Leafy Salad with pear slices topped with gorgonzola, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds and some raspberry vinaigrette to dress.
Fresh Green Bean Salad
Bacon wrapped potatoes : cut potato in half. Place a slice of onion between the two halves. Wrap a piece of bacon around the potato, then wrap in foil and bake at 400 for about 1 1/2 hour. You can always add a slice of fresh jalapeno in with the onion for a nice zing.
Saute'd mushrooms or onions to top the steak with.

Plain salt and pepper. Steaks specially ones of good qualiy should never get anything more than salt and pepper.

And do NOT over cook. Nothing more than medium and even that is pushing it.

And potato, baked, fried, roasted, mashed, sweet-baked or fries or even rice

And any veggie you want.

You don't need a whole lot of seasoning for steaks. Just watch the garlic salt and seasoning salt - they're both salt - so make sure you don't use too much. Sides- mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, or scalloped potatoes would be good. Then, add a veggie like asparagus or broccoli.

ranch, thousand island, honey mustard, etc.

Restaurants
