Is there any way to make chocolate cover strawberries without the shortening?!


Question: Is there any way to make chocolate cover strawberries without the shortening?
I was looking at allot of different recipes for the chocolate cover strawberries, but allot of them have shortening, is there any easy way I can make it without the shortening?

I am not sure why you would need shortening to cover strawberries. You could just use any chocolate you want and melt it over a bain-marie. Put a pot with water on the stove. When it boils, put a metal container with the chocolate on top of the pot with water. Dip the chocolate while it is melted. If you want the chocolate to solidify on the strawberry so you can store it and eat later, look for a recipe for ganache - a chocolate and heavy cream mixture used to cover truffles.

1 pkg. (7 oz.) BAKER'S Milk Chocolate Dipping Chocolate
36 fresh strawberries
Make It
MELT chocolate as directed on package.

DIP strawberries in chocolate; let excess chocolate drip off.

PLACE on waxed paper-covered baking sheet. Refrigerate 30 min. or

just go to walmart or wherever and get the kind of chocolate you can put in a pot and melt..you might have to ask where its at...then just dip ur strawberries in and enjoy! =]



Whenever my mom makes chocolate dipped goodies, she melts some paraffin wax in with the chocolate to help it stick to the food item.
