I can't believe you haven't had pancakes and bananas before, that is actually the best! Or sometimes I like to eat them with berries and cream, which is especially good if you also put berries in the batter. Or sometimes I like to have maple syrup and a mixture of cinnamon and sugar together. If you do usually have them with maple syrup, you're probably wanting to try something completely new, but the cinnamon actually makes a difference, so try it sometime!
Fruit syrup. My wife makes syrup from all kinds of fruit.Wild plum and rose hips are my favorites.Since most people don't have any around, you can make some with any flavor of jelly.Just heat it in a pan with enough water to make it "syrupy" If you ever decide to make some it's just like making jelly except leave out the pectin.
I know a friend who makes them with flavoured milk instead of plain - says they are great especially strawberry. If you want to make plain maybe a berry coulis with cream. http://www.canadabbhosts.com/recipes/Mix…

I personally love them with fresh strawberries or raspberries (sometimes even a combination of raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries). I top them with whipped cream. It is wonderful and not too sweet. (You can add any combo of fruit that you like. Bananas add some more sweetness and a bit of variety, as well.)
