Divide the block into eight - cut in the centre, then cut in the centre of one of those two, then cut again in the centre of one of those bits.
Do you mean how would I do it ??
Simply press a line in the butter at the mid point. You have now marked out 8 oz.
Press the knife in the mid point of that 8 oz section. You now have marked out 4 oz. Do that again and you now have 2 oz marked out. Cut it.
(1 lb is 16 oz)
Done
You would have to divide it... there are16 oz.in a lb so that would be way too much
