It says to use "1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, margarine or spread.
I don't have a stick of butter, just got regular butter (soft spread) in the big container.
Can I use that, if so how much?

If you have a "huge" measuring cup, it should be calibrated. Measure our your regular soft spread butter up to the 1/2 cup marking. That should do it!
Either use a tablespoon or measuring cup
