Yes but I like mine in bright red and without the creamy white icing.

It's because you use cocoa powder instead of chocolate, unlike a lot of chocolate cake recipes, and because the red dye has a very distinct taste.
Personally, I'm allergic to red dye, so I go to the natural food store and buy food coloring made from strawberries.
