Type 0 flour substitute?!

Question: Type 0 flour substitute?
I was wondering if there is a type 0 recipie substitute, i understand what type 0 is and i know its a stronger flour like an all purpose or bread but I'm not sure if i should substitute a bread flour or an all purpose. thanks

Answers:

From the research I have done, a bread flour would be a good substitute for type 0 but if you are making a molten chocolate cake I would also think cake or pastry flour would be better. Sorry if this isn't much help but I just think you might come out with a very heavy cake if you use bread flour...

It depends on what you are making with the flour. For instance, if you are making bread, the bread flour works the best because of the higher gluten content in it but just plain regular flour will make a very nice loaf just the same - but maybe not quite as high.

Most bread flours can be used interchangeably with some adjustments.

Hope that helps.

Sorry! I have no clue at all as to what "type o flour" is!! I have never heard of it.

My recipes, all 2 of them, for molten lava cake, call for regular all purpose flour! They are quite specific on types of chocolate that go into the batter and in what order, but nothing other than regular all purpose flour.
