Can you put soured cream into chilli con carne and then reheat?!

Question: Can you put soured cream into chilli con carne and then reheat?
Put a few dutch chillis in, then some Jalapenos. Tasted. Nah. Put half a scotch bonnet in (now this is enough chilli for 10 people) and now its blowing my head off.

If you mean sour whipping cream, NO! Throw it away.

If you mean regular commercial sour cream, I'd still say don't add it to the pot before reheating. Reheat the chili and let the diners add sour cream to their own taste. Or serve it with a big dollop of sour cream sitting on top of the chili.

try a dash of Lime juice

Alternatively Yes Put some Cream in or just serve it with a bit of Dessicated Coconut. it should take some of the heat away

Beware of Scotch bonnets.

You may want to wait till it's served in bowls and then put sour cream on top. If put into the cooking chili, you may curdle the whole thing and that would not be pretty.

SourEd cream no.

Sour cream yes. They ARE different things.

Or just add a good sized dallop on top of each serving. Serve with Lots of cheese and corn breada to cut down the heat as well.

yes you can! you can cook with it also

Tes you can, it wouldn't affect the heat, just make it creamier.

No reheat it first and then add the sour cream right before you are ready to serve it.

Yes, definitely. But it might be better to reheat first, stir in the cream, then serve.

You could, but I wouldn't. I would reheat then add sour cream to each dish just before eating.

Bin the chilli you will never tame the heat!

Why not just heat it and then add sour cream?

yes
