What can I cook for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend?!

Question: What can I cook for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend?
My boyfriend and I are trying to avoid the crowds and long waits this year for Valentine's Day so we have decided on a nice night in cooking together. We were thinking we wanted to do something fun to make and great to eat and we are not opposed to trying new things. I would like an appetizer a meal and a dessert. Here is the twist, neither of us cook often (almost never) so something too difficult would probably just end in a mess. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

for an appetizer you could make hot spinach dip
just mix a block of cream cheese
with a dollop of mayonnaise
a cup of parmesan cheese
a cup of frozen spinach
a cup of mozzarella cheese
a pinch of cayenne pepper
a squeeze of lemon juice
salt and black pepper

mix it together well and then either put it in an oven safe dish and bake it until it's hot and bubbly
or put in the microwave for a few minutes

serve with tortilla chips or sliced baguette

For the meal make chicken parmagiano

buy a bag of southern style breaded chicken breasts
like this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Southern-Style…

a jar of spaghetti sauce and a bag of mozzarella cheese

put the chicken breasts in an oven safe casserole (you can use a foil roasting pan if you don't want a mess)

cover them with the sauce and then bake them at 350 for about 30 minutes. After 30 minutes add the mozzarella cheese over the top and continue baking until the cheese is nice and toasted and bubbly. Serve with spaghetti or any kind of pasta you like (I prefer linguine or fettucini)

For dessert make a chocolate fondue:

Ingredients - Extraordinary (and Simple) Chocolate Fondue Recipe
16 ounces dark, sweet or semi-sweet chocolate
1 1/2 cups light cream
1 tsp. Vanilla extract

Instructions - Extraordinary (and Simple) Chocolate Fondue Recipe

1. Break chocolate squares into smaller pieces and drop them into the fondue pot.

2. Add cream (which will prevent the chocolate from going lumpy) and stir gently but constantly until the chocolate is melted and smooth.

3. Add vanilla extract, and stir it in.

4. Use a fondue fork to spear the fruit, then dip it in the chocolate.

If you don't have a fondue pot you can use a crock pot or just a regular sauce pan over low heat

You can dip strawberries and cookies and pieces of pound cake into the chocolate with forks

both super romantic and delicious

Appetizer
An easy beef Consomme and a dinner roll.
Main.
An easy beef "Beef Hot Pot"
Main
A simple Trifle.

Appetizer: cheese and crackers, crudites (veggies with dip)
Cook baked potatoes in the microwave; make a salad; melted butter, bread/baguette
Entree : Alton Brown's crab legs (you will need a nut cracker, or seafood cracker to open the legs)

buy 2 sides of snow crab legs - the legs come connected and are not as large as king crab.
rinse the crab legs. take 2 paper towels, and wrap them around one set of legs. dampen/wet the paper towels and squeeze out excess water. then take at least two layers of plastic wrap, and COMPLETELY enclose the legs. do the other set of legs in a second packet. Put one set in the micro for 2:20. Take out carefully. It's HOT! Cook the other packet. Cut the packages open carefully with scissors, dip into melted butter and enjoy. If you want, you could make 3 sides/packages and share the third, depending on your appetites.

Something chocolate for dessert. And a little/lot of wine.

food network. Sometimes I make this with a small filet mignon for my husband - surf-n-turf. He has not gone to have crab legs in a restaurant since I started doing the crab legs this way.
