I want to bake a cake but I only have self raising flour, will it be okay?!

Question: I want to bake a cake but I only have self raising flour, will it be okay?
I have all the ingredients except plain flour. The recipe calls for 8oz of plain flour and 2tsp of baking powder, can I just use self raising and forget about the baking powder?

Yes, but you won't need the baking powder - unless you want it to rise a lot. Self raising flour is just plain flour with baking powder mixed into it.

yes you can ,I always use S R flour and have very good results, Just go for it and ENJOY!!

Use it anyway but don't add any Baking Powder if the recipe asks for it.

I'm a chef.

add 1/2 tsp of baking powder
