How can I make healthier red velvet cupcakes?!
Are there any ingredients I can add or take away? I'm making these cupcakes for valentine's day for my mom's special Ed class. They r all in 7th grade and I want to make the cupcakes delicious and healthy. I will also have some left over for my family but they r complaining cuz red velvet cakes r usually more heavier than other cupcakes. How can I make these red velvet cupcakes healthier but still delicious?

Subsititute applesauce for the oil.
I don;t really think that red velvet is any heavier but here are a couple of things you could do:
I use about 1/2 applesauce and 1/2 oil.
Use flax meal instead of eggs. 1 tbsp flax meal + 3 tbsp hot water per each egg caled for. Mix up and let set about 5 minutes before adding to batter.
