How did I break my oven?!
Last night I discovered the broil feature on my oven and I used that to make my BBQ Chicken. The heating element no longer works on the bottom rack. Also when I got home the oven had a really nasty smell coming from it. Lastly the heating element came apart in pieces. What could of happened. It was the bottom one.

Sounds like you may have dropped something on the bottom element. They are fragile and they will fall apart very easily if dinged. You can get them replaced.
You just now discovered the broil part of the oven?
If it is an older oven the element could have burnt right off. Happened to me last year. And you just need to replace the element.
i would not mess around with ovens. they can exploed ! get it replaced and after installation call a fire fighter to have it checked out
